A fifteenth-edition IET conference lands in Paphos next week, and registration shuts on 26 October. MEDPOWER 2026 — the 15th Mediterranean Conference on Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Energy Conversion — runs 3–6 November 2026 at the Coral Beach Hotel & Resort, Paphos. The deadline first. The registration system closes on 26 October 2026. If you want to be in the room, that is tomorrow-shaped, not next-week-shaped. Who runs it. Frederick University and the IET Cyprus Local Network, supported by the IET Greece and IET Malta networks, under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry. Power system design, operation and planning — and, the part relevant to anyone reading a tech-events calendar, AI and digitalisation in energy systems, smart grids and microgrids, e-mobility and energy communities. Accepted papers go to the IET Digital Library and IEEE Xplore, and are submitted to Scopus. Be clear about what this is not. There is no hackathon, no student competition and no pitch track. It is a four-day academic and industry conference with keynotes, special sessions, paper presentations and an exhibition. If you are looking for something to build at, this is not it. Why it is listed anyway. Because the grid is where a large share of Cyprus' applied-AI work is going to be commissioned, and the people who will commission it — DSO and TSO engineers, Frederick's power group, the energy ministry, the Cypriot renewables developers — are all in one Paphos hotel for four days. The island's AI Factory Antenna, its National AI Strategy 2032 and the energy-fintech brief at the BoC Fintech Hackathon 7.0 (27–29 November) all run into the same constraint: a small, islanded grid with a lot of solar on it. This is the conference where that constraint is discussed by the people who operate it.
