INVESTech 2026 Software Engineering Skills Competition (Cyprus)

INVESTech 2026 is a multi-stage software engineering skills competition run in Cyprus by Frederick University as part of the European INVESTech project (a transnational platform of Centres of Vocational Excellence in ICT spanning Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Lithuania). It is promoted locally by the Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB), and aims to connect academic knowledge with the real needs of the technology industry and labour market. Format — three phases:

• Hackathon — 15-17 June 2026: student teams build working prototypes against industry-set challenges.
• Pitching Day — 19 June 2026: teams present their prototypes to a judging panel of industry professionals.
• Final Skills Competition — 23 September 2026: the surviving teams return with a full MVP for final evaluation and awards.

Who takes part: student teams from Cypriot institutions, supported by mentors from industry. IT professionals, software engineers and tech companies are invited to join as mentors, evaluation-committee members, technical speakers or sponsors via the organisers' participation form. Cyprus partners in the wider INVESTech project include Frederick University, CYRIC (Cyprus Research & Innovation Center), Emphasys Centre and the Center for Social Innovation.
