The Digital Cooperation Organisation has opened the second edition of its Digital Prosperity Awards under the theme "Building the Future, Today", and Cyprus — a DCO member state — is eligible to enter. Nicosia has a winner: Axioniq takes the Swarm Coordination challenge at Cyprus' first EUDIS Defence Hackathon

The results of the EUDIS Defence Hackathon's Autumn 2026 edition are published, and the Cyprus node has its champion: Axioniq, which won the Swarm Coordination challenge with an autonomous command-and-control platform pairing a reconnaissance drone with a coordinated swarm that localises, tracks and intercepts a target while keeping the operator in the loop. Twenty-three teams from across Europe competed in Nicosia over 15–17 October for more than €10,000 in prizes, with field testing on National Guard training grounds. Three of the eight European locations gave their top prize to a swarm entry.

The Cyprus Computer Society held the awards ceremony for Robotex Cyprus 2026 on 16 October, four months after the ninth Pancyprian Educational and Sports Robotics Competition brought roughly 200 pupils, university students and adults through more than 25 separate challenges. BridgeSTEAM returns to Nicosia on 14–15 November 2026 at the PwC Experience Centre for its sixth year, run by the Girls in STEAM Academy. Zubr Capital's one-day hackathon for Cyprus university students and early-stage founders returns on 24 October 2026, and this edition is devoted entirely to AI products: hypothesis to working prototype to investor pitch between morning and night. Entry is free and registration is required. The 2025 debut ran at Parklane in Limassol with Russian as the working language and interviewed applicants before accepting them; the series' Almaty AI edition in September drew 130 students and 16 teams. €112.8m across 28 rounds with three months to run: Cyprus is about to beat its funding record

Cyprus startups have raised €112.8 million across 28 disclosed rounds so far in 2026, against roughly €120 million for the whole of 2025 — with a quarter of the year still to go. The National eHealth Authority announced on Tuesday 6 October that Cyprus and Estonia are now interconnected through MyHealth@EU, so an electronic prescription issued in one country can be dispensed in the other and doctors can pull up a patient summary — medicines, allergies, diagnoses.
