9th SkillsCyprus National Skills Competition 2026

Cyprus' national WorldSkills-format competition returns for its 9th edition, running three days at the State Fair in Nicosia under the auspices of the President of the Republic. Unlike a weekend hackathon, SkillsCyprus is a live, timed, judged championship: competitors work through real-world briefs at their bench in front of the public, with industry experts scoring the output. Of the 22 specialties on the programme, three are straight ICT categories — Web Development, IT Software Solutions for Business and IT Network Systems Administration — alongside Graphic Design and an Entrepreneurship / Business Development Team Challenge. The stakes are what make it worth watching: winners are selected into the Cyprus national team for EuroSkills 2027 in Düsseldorf, Germany. The competition is organised by the Cyprus Productivity Centre (KEPA) of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance. Competitor registration closed on 31 May 2026. The event itself is open to the public and free to attend — for anyone in the local dev scene, it is a rare chance to watch junior developers build under exam conditions rather than pitch slides.
