RIF opens a call for 15 Cyprus startups to join Slush 2026 in Helsinki - applications close 14 September

The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) has opened applications for up to 15 Cyprus-based technology companies to take part in Slush 2026, held in Helsinki on 18-19 November 2026. Slush is one of Europe's largest startup gatherings, expected to bring together more than 6,000 startups and over 3,500 investors and businesses.

What RIF covers: the EUR 395 entry ticket (including VAT) and a further EUR 300 subsidy per person towards participation costs - up to EUR 695 per person. Travel and accommodation remain at the companies' own expense.

Deadline: applications must be submitted via Microsoft Forms by 1 p.m. on 14 September 2026.

Who can apply: Cyprus-based technology companies that have been funded by RIF under the Pre-Seed, Seed, Innovate, Disrupt, STEP, FTI or BOOST programmes, or that reached second-stage evaluation in the relevant programmes, or that hold an Innovative Enterprise Certificate. Companies must operate in the areas controlled by the Republic of Cyprus.

A maximum of 15 companies will be selected. Priority goes to currently RIF-funded projects, then to previous applicants, ranked by the order in which applications are submitted.

For Cypriot founders the call is one of the few subsidised routes to a top-tier European startup stage, offering exposure, customer acquisition and investor networking alongside the island's growing presence at international tech events.
