1,285 attendees on a three-month build: AI Cyprus Expo books Limassol again for 22-23 April 2027
The AI Cyprus Expo returns to Limassol on 22-23 April 2027. The organisers, Empactio, told the Cyprus Mail they want the second edition - Chapter 2 - to be less a local trade show and more a regional meeting point for applied AI across the Eastern Mediterranean.
The numbers behind that ambition are worth knowing, because they were produced fast.
- 1,285+ attendees at the first edition
- 35 exhibitors and 65 panellists across 22+ topics
- 45 ecosystem supporters
- Produced by two founders in roughly three months
Empactio was founded by Wassim Monzer and Briken Bufi - backgrounds in sales, growth, architecture and fintech rather than the events industry. Their read on the gap: Cyprus has interest in technology, a capable ecosystem and institutional support, but nothing pulling those together around practical adoption.
"Events, for us, were simply the vehicle. The real objective was to build that platform," they said.
Why this matters if you build things here
The first edition ran a startup competition, and the organisers said what struck them was the spread - innovation was not concentrated in one field, with ideas coming from across industries and business models. That competition will inform where they put effort next.
Chief Scientist Demetris Skourides keynoted on the National AI Strategy, with the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry as partner, backing from Limassol Mayor Yiannis Armeftis, and EY as anchor sponsor.
The event was deliberately built around one question - not what AI is, but how a business actually implements it, across finance, sales, marketing, customer service, operations and HR.
"Our goal is to move the conversation from 'AI is going to change business' to 'Here is how your business can use AI today'," the organisers said.
Two open doors before April
Ahead of Chapter 2, Empactio is looking for international speakers, co-creators and strategic media partners - specifically people who can talk about implementing AI, measuring its impact and managing it responsibly, rather than big names for the sake of it. If that is you, the window is now rather than in spring.
The company is also launching a HealthTech Cyprus Expo, on the same applied-first logic: healthcare professionals, technology companies, startups and investors in one room, working on real problems.
A proprietary platform built in-house runs registration and networking before, during and after the event - the stated aim being that the expo stops being three days a year and starts being a standing ecosystem.
