A digital-asset boutique, a private-banking pitch and an art gallery in the lobby: Teroxx opens its Nicosia headquarters mid-INSPIRE
Cyprus added a head office rather than an announcement this week. Teroxx, a digital asset provider active since 2018, opened new headquarters in Nicosia on Wednesday 7 October 2026, deliberately timed to land inside the INSPIRE 2026 entrepreneurial festival. Invest Cyprus welcomed the move as evidence of the island's pull on international financial-services and technology firms looking for an EU base.
Who Teroxx serves. Not retail. The firm works with private clients, family offices and institutional investors in digital assets, and the new building is meant to bring its international business activity, institutional partnerships, innovation work and culture programme under one roof. That last item is literal: the headquarters houses a contemporary art gallery, t.a.s. gallery.
The pitch, in the founder's own framing. Christoph Pliessnig, Teroxx's founder and CEO, described Nicosia as "a strategic European base from which we can serve international clients, combining the standards of traditional private banking." It is a telling sentence for anyone building in this space here — the selling point is not crypto-native speed, it is looking like a bank while holding digital assets.
The state's side of it. Marios Tannousis, CEO of Invest Cyprus, gave the familiar list — "Cyprus offers a strong combination of advantages, including membership of the European Union, an outward-looking business environment" — and Nicodemos Damianou, Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, attended. Pliessnig also took the INSPIRE stage on the panel "Breaking Borders: International Entrepreneurs Transforming Cyprus".
What is missing, and worth saying plainly. The announcement carries no investment amount and no headcount — no "X million, Y jobs". Treat it as a relocation-and-consolidation story with a ribbon on it until those numbers appear; the signal is the address, not the scale.
The frame around it. INSPIRE 2026 ran 7–8 October with Makarios Avenue and the surrounding streets turned into the venue — 7+ stages, 150+ speakers, 100+ podcasts and more than 6,000 people, and the Innovation Cyprus 2.0 session with Microsoft, Mastercard and AWS happening a few streets away on the same day. For the hackathon crowd the relevance is prosaic: every one of these arrivals is another company that needs engineers, another possible challenge sponsor, and another local employer for the team that wins something in November.
