400 payments executives in Limassol on 19 November — eight days before the fintech hackathon they will be judging
If you want to know what to build for the BoC Fintech Hackathon, the answer gets said out loud in a Limassol ballroom eight days earlier. The 27th NextGen Payments & RegTech Forum runs on Thursday 19 November 2026, 09:00–18:00, at the Four Seasons Hotel, Limassol, organised by QUBE Events. Expected turnout: 400+ industry leaders from over 100 companies, with 50+ speakers from global payments, EU compliance and banking technology.
The agenda as published. Cyprus' standing as a payments and fintech hub; instant payments, A2A and open finance; PSD3/PSR and the EU AML package; DORA and NIS2 operational resilience; AI and agentic AI in payments and RegTech; crypto, stablecoins and the Digital Euro; fraud and financial-crime prevention; and cross-border payments and treasury management.
Who is in the room. Banks, payment service providers, EMIs, fintechs, regulators and technology vendors — senior and commercial. This is the 27th edition of a travelling series, and Limassol is one of its regular anchors for the obvious reason: the density of CySEC-regulated payment and brokerage firms along that coast is among the highest per capita in the EU.
Cost, plainly. It is a paid corporate forum, registered through the QUBE Events site, with no student or community tier advertised. Unlike most of what appears on this calendar, nobody is getting in free. Check the current rate before committing the day.
The reason it is listed here anyway. Timing. The BoC Fintech Hackathon 7.0 runs 27–29 November at the IDEA Innovation Centre in Nicosia with €16,000 in prizes — eight days after this forum, with substantial overlap in the institutions involved. The DORA/NIS2 and PSD3 sessions in particular are the least filtered available signal of what a Cyprus-licensed financial institution is actually spending compliance budget on right now. That is better raw material for a hackathon submission than any ideation exercise, and the mentors and prospective first customers are standing in the same room.
