UCLan Cyprus holds its 1st Engineering Hackathon in Larnaka

UCLan Cyprus has successfully concluded its 1st Engineering Hackathon, held on 26-27 May 2026 at the university's campus in Larnaka.

The two-day event brought together students, academics and industry professionals, who worked in teams to develop robotic-based solutions addressing real-world environmental and sustainability challenges.

The hackathon was supported by robo.com.cy, HardwareX and the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS). Organisers congratulated the winning team for its outstanding effort, creativity and achievement.

According to UCLan Cyprus, the inaugural edition "marks an important step towards establishing an annual platform that promotes innovation, teamwork, practical learning and stronger connections between education and industry."
